Andre Rieu
Yesterday I sat down and watched Andre Rieu Australian Concert on DVD...I love it, this man is a entertainer. I would recomend this DVD to anyone, the backdrop was magical a real fairy tale. He shows passion in his music and you can see that every person involved in his performance throughly enjoy being there. I hear he will be back in Australia in 2009 I would love to go and see him.

The big day
This year I kept the table setting simple to keep room for all the serving dishes so everybody could help themselves to their meal. I made the little boots and in each was the cutlery wrapped in a serviette along with a small bon bon and a candy cane. The meal was lovely if I say so myself and I hope that body left the table feeling hungry. Each Christmas I try to make the day special for my Mum so I hope she enjoyed HER day. Lunch this year there was 6 of us...us 3, my mum and brother and my sister inlaw Glenys. Glenys is the wife of my brother that passed away, she is still family and each Christmas she is invited for lunch.
Boxing day my nephew Glenn his wife Deanne and their twin girls Charli and Jordyn came as did my Niece Kristy and her husband Craig with their beautiful little Girl Caitlyn. They usually try to call in on Christmas Day but it's just so difficult trying to spread themselves around so they came boxing day to see their grandmother.
Caitlyn is the sweetest little girl, a beautiful nature, I know if my brother was still alive he would be besotted with his 3 georgous grand dauthers.
Below is a picture of Caitlyn.
Off course I have to put a picture of my little cosgrove in his santa hat.

AAAACHOOOOOOOOOO
You wouldn't believe it that at this time of the year, I have caught a cold, or a cold has caught me. It all started Thursday, a nagging little tickle in the throat, thursday night the coughing fits started and continued, friday that tickle has gone but a gut wrenching, body aching, rib stabbing cough has taken it's place. Saturday morning feeling like a road train hit me and dragged me to Port Augusta and left me on the side of the road. But Hey I feel great !!. There's housework to be tackled, washing to be done, I have to wash my little dog as I'm sure he snuck out the gate during the day and found a muddy hole to play in, you see it's been raining for the last 24 hours, I'm not complaining as we need the rain but can't it rain during the night and the sun shine during the day, thursday night I put clothes on the line in hindesight I should have taken them of friday morning but nahhh it will be ok, oh oh oh..wrong move, they are now drenched and will have to go back into the LG to get rewashed so that means I'll have to go outside in the rain to get them off the line, prolly end up with pneumonia, as if there isn't enough washing to do without having to rewash clothes. But Hey it's great we've got rain. And to make matters worse my router still hasn't been installed so I still can't use my own computer, looks like all the pics I've taken will have to go on next years christmas blog.
Have a great day.

My Right Arm has been cut off !!
The power supply on the router has died, which means I am unable to use my own computer as I need the router to get wireless. I'm using the main computer which houses the modem to write this post but I can't upload any pictures that I've taken.
I tried to install the router but it needs configuring and my Computer guru is in hospital so until he's well I will be posting on this computer.

TIME SHARE
I know this has nothing to do with Christmas, but in a way it has. For sometime now I've been looking at buying Timeshare. A timeshare is a form of ownership or right to the use of a property, or the term used to describe such properties. Timeshare properties are typically resort condominium units, in which multiple parties hold rights to use the property, and each sharer is allotted a period of time (typically one week) in which they may use the property.[1] Timeshares may be on a part-ownership or lease/"right to use" basis, in which the sharer holds no claim to ownership of the property. Now that interest rates have come down I decided that now is the right time to look into it. I'm so excited that I've finally found the perfect place, lush green lawns, inground pool, playground and the accomodation is out of this world (literally). When I first made the inquiry I was told that if your looking for a place to relax where it's quiet then this would be the perfect place. Below is the photo of my time share.

More Christmas decorations Added
Musical christmas Tea Pot.
Nativity Scene and two little Gold Trees on the coffee table
A couple of funny Santa's
Santa tea light Holder.
Santa sitting beside a small tree.
Santa's on the side board.
Each year I like to decorate the Christmas Tree in a theme, pink/silver, red/gold this year I thought I'd go with Blue/Silver, but today I was asked "where is the red" so tonight when I looked at it I thought it needed some color, so not only did I add Red but also Gold. I would love to know what you think of my tree.
Normally I would have the tree in the lounge Room, but as we spend the majority of Christmas Day in the Dining Room I thought I'd put it there so it will be seen on the day.
Red, Blue and Gold - Lights off.
Blue and Silver Tree.
That's all there is for tonight, stay tuned for more Christmas 2008 Decorations at Come What May.

Christmas Pie
I remember when I was a little girl I would sit and watch Nana making pies just like the little girl in this picture. Nana would make all kinds of pies, meat, apple, apricot, even at Christmas Nana would bake her special Christmas Pies, I always wondered how she got those edges so neat but it was a secret that she took with her to her grave, and I've never been able to make perfect edges on pies like Nana used to. But then I came across this little story and her secret was revealed..To read how Nana did this click on the book to enlarge it.

Santa's photo
Santa is a MAN
For those of you that have been to Jackie's blog would have read 'SANTA HAS TO BE A WOMAN' then this is why I think Santa must be a man:
Santa Claus could never have been a woman!
Who else but a man would:
Be really generous once a year,
Be totally uninvolved the other 11 months,
(And 29 days, we’ll give him Christmas Eve & Day),
And yet think he was a saint?
One more reason Santa has to be a man:
No woman is going to wear the same outfit, year after year.

This is what My Name means, what does Yours?
What Pamela Means |
You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people. Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems. Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic “Type A” personality. You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way! You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone. You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together. At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together. You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. |

The talented One
In one of my previous posts I mentioned Janita, for this posting I will call her the "TALENTED ONE".
The Talented One has made this cake for her Local Scout group to have has a Christmas Raffle, the picture does not do it justice, all the decorations were made by the Talented One as was the cake which I assume is a fruit Cake.
Is it any wonder I call her the "Talented one".

Bitch n Stitch Night
Tonight was our usual friday night Bitch N Stitch, but I decided that I wouldn't do any stitching, it's not as if I didn't have anything to do but I decided I would make these little boots which will adorn the Christmas Lunch Table, these will hold the cutlery along with a serviette and a candy cane and will be put on each plate. I have held Christmas at my house for the last ummmm errrrr 20 years, it was always at My mum and Dad's house but many years ago mum had a stroke and wasn't well enough to do it, so I took it on, and it's stayed with me all these years, It's a lot of work but I enjoy having it. We have the traditional hot lunch and for dinner cold meat and salads followed by deserts. Lunch this year won't be big, my mother, brother Paul, sister inlaw Glenys and the three of us. During the afternoon my nieces and nephews and their spouses and children all call come to visit us and hand out the gifts that Santa has left for the little ones. After tea when all the dishes are done and the dining room and kitchen have been cleaned up is when I can sit and relax, I like to make sure the day goes well for my Mum, she's 81 so my time with her is precious and I like to make Christmas a special time for her, it's not easy for her as my dad is no longer with us and neither is my eldest brother, so christmas day for her is quiet emotional as it was the day when she would have her entire family around her, she has her little cry but then she picks herself up and enjoys the day. So anyone that has elderly parents make this day a special day for them.

What is that ?
I heard this strange noise coming from outside, I sat for a minute just listening and it got louder and louder, so being the "ferret" that I am I had to investigate, so I crept out into the family room, slowly I opened the curtain on the sliding door and lo and behold what did I see? NO it wasn't
SO what is this strange stuff falling from the sky..OMG it's RAINING , strange I know but true. Beautiful steady rain, the plants are smiling the grass is upright. I hope this steady stream lasts all through the night and continues on during the day, we don't want heavy downpours just nice steady rain. It makes me feel like going out there and dancing in the rain just wearing my knickers, but I won't as I don't want the neighbours calling the police.
Rain rain don't go away !!

Hot Today
It's been a hot day here in Melbourne, not sure of what temperature it got to but I would say low 30's, for some that isn't hot but it hasn't warmed up to those temperatures, just whamo it hits. But we are rather lucky here as we may get a couple of day's in a row of high temperatures but then we get a cool change. Tomorrow I heard was 30's again then a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, lets hope that we get some well needed rain with that.
I was talking with a lady from the water company today and she was saying that at the end of November our water restriction rating will be adjusted at the moment we are on 3a but more than likely we will go to 4, which means no watering of gardens what so ever, unless it's with recycled water from the house. I told her that my garden is so lush as I have drought tolerantplants weeds , it's amazing those drought tolerant plants weeds remain nice and green without any water at all and continue to grow with no love at all given to them.
UPDATE ; Weather forecast for tonight - DARK !
Goodnight xx
